Review of 2011-2012 School Renewal
Goals Accomplished:

  • Map data was used to analyze students' needs and plan instruction
  • Individualized instruction was implemented through the reading initiative and MAP score analysis
  • Software was purchased to proved additional support
  • An after school program for at risk students was established to provide additional academic support
  • One reading intervention teacher was funded by district funding
  • One Science Lab teacher was funded by Title 1 funds
  • Fifteen SRNS grants were received and used to enhance Science and Math instruction
  • Teachers participated in staff development on early release days and various times throughout the year
  • Provided teachers with relevant professional reading opportunities
  • Dominie testing data was used to guide reading instruction
School Environment
  • Surveys were used to determine staff development needs
  • Staff development was planned and conducted throughout the year
Home-School Connection

  • A successful Career Day was planned and implemented
  • A family enrichment night was planned and implemented
  • Positive communication was sent home via positive office referrals, positive notes home, and a clip chart discipline method
  • The Student Council planned a community learning project and successfully implemented it throughout the year

  • Implement the use of Common Core Standards
  • Purchase Compass Learning computer program to assist teachers with implementing common core standards
Teacher Quality
  • Provide extensive professional development on the implementation and use of common core standards based on district and state guidelines
  • Provide professional development on the use of a new computer program as a basis for planning differentiated instruction
  • Provide relevant staff development focusing on math and science
